Care and maintenance information for iceramic
For information on your iceramic warranty please view this document.
iceramic is a range of large format porcelain slabs available in the size of 3200 x 1600mm x 20mm thick.
Porcelain slabs are one of the best surfaces currently available for worktops, the range resembles natural marbles and adds an elegant look to your home.
Porcelain slabs are made from fine clay and minerals, fired in a kiln at temperatures reaching 100c, owning to the high temperatures and their composition they slabs have a high heat and UV resistance. They are:
• UV and heat resistant
• Chemical resistant
• Water resistant
• Frost resistant
• Stain resistant
iceramic Vs Granite
iceramic has less porosity, especially when compared to natural materials like Granite. So it is a dream to clean and the resistance to moisture prevents growth of bacteria/fungi. iceramic colours are much more uniform as compared to Granite, which often has defects or inconsistencies in the pattern.
iceramic Vs Marble
The scratch resistance of Iceramic and the fact that it does not stain easily is a plus over traditional marble which is not as hard, Iceramic does not fade in sunlight and is easier to maintain.
iceramic Vs Quartz
Both Materials come in designs that are similar to natural stone, unlike Quartz, iceramic is not sensitive to direct heat exposure like hot pans or pots. As it is UV and heat resistant, iceramic can be used in outdoor spaces.
